Sarcopenia: The Slow Muscle Drain
Starting in your 30s, you begin losing muscle so gradually you won't notice it year to year. According to Harvard Health's guidance on preserving muscle, adults lose roughly 3 to 5 percent of their muscle mass per decade after about age 30, and most people will shed around 30 percent of their muscle over a lifetime if nothing is done to counter it.
