Editorial Standards
Daily Vitality is committed to publishing accurate, useful, and trustworthy content for a health-conscious audience. This Editorial Policy explains the standards, principles, and practices that govern everything we publish.
Daily Vitality is owned and operated by PointForm, Inc., an Ontario corporation.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content is independent of our commercial relationships. This is a foundational principle of Daily Vitality, not a qualified one.
- No paid rankings. No manufacturer, retailer, or affiliate partner can pay for a higher ranking, a more favorable review, or a preferred placement in our content. Our evaluations are determined by our editorial process and evaluation criteria — not by revenue considerations.
- No pay-for-placement. We do not accept payment in exchange for including or featuring a product in our reviews, guides, or recommendations.
- No advertiser influence on editorial content. Affiliate relationships, display advertising, and other revenue sources do not influence our editorial assessments, opinions, or conclusions.
- Separation of editorial and commercial functions. Our editorial decisions are made independently from commercial considerations. Revenue supports our work — it does not direct it.
If a product earns a recommendation on Daily Vitality, it is because it met our evaluation criteria. If a product does not earn a recommendation, no amount of affiliate commission will change that assessment.
Our Commitment to Responsible Health Content
Because we publish about health and wellness, we hold our content to additional standards of care:
- Not medical advice. Our content is educational and is not a substitute for professional medical care. We present information to help readers ask better questions and make more informed choices — not to diagnose, treat, or prescribe. See our Medical Disclaimer for the full statement.
- Evidence first. We ground our content in reputable, evidence-based sources and are transparent about the strength of the evidence behind a claim. We distinguish between well-established findings, emerging research, and marketing claims.
- No miracle claims. We do not publish exaggerated, sensational, or unsupported health claims. We avoid language suggesting that any product can cure, treat, or prevent disease.
- Appropriate cautions. Where relevant, we note important safety considerations, such as the need to consult a healthcare professional before starting a supplement, and cautions for people who are pregnant or nursing, have medical conditions, or take medications.
Medical Expert Review
In addition to our standard editorial review, content we deem appropriate — particularly articles addressing health conditions, symptoms, supplements, treatments, and other sensitive topics — is reviewed by a qualified medical expert before publication.
Our network of Medical Expert Reviewers spans a range of health verticals — including women's health and perimenopause, nutrition and dietetics, metabolic and gut health, weight management and GLP-1 medications, hormones and hormone therapy, sleep medicine, dermatology, sports nutrition, longevity, and general wellness — so that content is evaluated by a professional with relevant subject-matter expertise rather than a single generalist.
When an article has been medically reviewed, we credit the reviewing expert, along with their professional credentials, on the page. Medical review helps ensure our content is accurate, current, and responsibly framed. It does not make our content a diagnosis or a substitute for personalized advice from your own physician or healthcare provider. Meet the reviewers — and learn how reviews work — on our Medical Review Board page.
How We Evaluate Products
Daily Vitality uses a structured evaluation framework to assess products consistently across categories. Unlike many content publishers that rely on subjective impressions or undisclosed criteria, we evaluate products against defined factors that are applied uniformly within each product category.
Evaluation Criteria
Our product evaluations are assessed across five core factors:
-
Effectiveness — Does the product do what it claims, and is that claim supported by evidence? We consider the quality of the research behind a product's key ingredients or design, and how meaningful the likely real-world benefit is.
-
Quality & Safety — How sound are the ingredients, formulation, or build? Is the product manufactured to recognized quality standards (e.g., cGMP), and is it backed by third-party testing or certification (e.g., NSF, USP, Informed Sport)? Are there safety considerations a buyer should know about?
-
Ease of Use — How easily does the product fit into a person's routine? Is the dosing, setup, or usage clear? Is the documentation helpful?
-
Transparency — Is the label accurate and complete? Are ingredients, dosages, and sourcing disclosed? Does the manufacturer avoid proprietary-blend obscurity and misleading marketing?
-
Value — Considering effectiveness, quality, ease of use, and transparency, does the product represent good value at its price point (for example, cost per serving or cost per use)?
These five factors are weighted according to what matters most within each product category. For example, third-party testing may carry more weight for supplements, while ease of use and features may matter more for wearables and fitness equipment.
Category-Specific Methodology
Within each product category, we define a tailored evaluation methodology that accounts for the specific characteristics, use cases, and purchase considerations relevant to that type of product. This includes:
- Category-specific attributes that are tracked for every product in the category (e.g., active ingredient and dose for supplements, sensor accuracy for wearables, resistance range for fitness equipment)
- Grounding research that establishes the factual foundation for evaluations — including the evidence base, safety considerations, quality certifications, and performance benchmarks
- Consistent application of the evaluation framework across all products in the category, ensuring fair and comparable assessments
This structured approach ensures that our evaluations are repeatable, comparable, and defensible — not dependent on subjective preference or the enthusiasm of an individual reviewer.
Research Standards
Our research process is designed to produce thorough, accurate, and responsible content.
Source Standards
We draw on a range of sources to inform our content, including:
- Peer-reviewed research and reputable health authorities — Scientific studies, systematic reviews, and guidance from recognized bodies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including its Office of Dietary Supplements, and other established medical and scientific organizations.
- Manufacturer specifications and documentation — Product labels, ingredient lists, supplement facts panels, technical documentation, and safety information provided by manufacturers.
- Quality standards and certifications — Third-party testing and certification (NSF, USP, Informed Sport), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) compliance, and applicable FDA and FTC guidance.
- Retailer information — U.S. pricing, availability, warranty terms, and return policies from U.S. retailers.
- Subject matter expertise — Knowledge of nutrition, fitness, and wellness that informs how we contextualize product claims and recommendations.
Responsible Interpretation
All content is evaluated for accuracy and responsible framing before publication. This includes:
- Verifying that health claims are supported by credible evidence and are not overstated
- Confirming that supplement and wellness claims are accompanied by appropriate disclaimers (including that dietary supplement statements have not been evaluated by the FDA)
- Ensuring that recommended products are available to U.S. consumers through U.S. retailers
- Contextualizing pricing for the U.S. market
- Noting safety cautions and encouraging readers to consult a healthcare professional where appropriate
AI-Assisted Editorial Workflow
Daily Vitality uses artificial intelligence tools as part of our editorial workflow. We believe transparency about this is important.
AI supports our editorial process in several ways:
- Research organization — AI tools help us organize and synthesize product specifications, ingredient data, research references, and market information across categories.
- Data analysis — AI assists in identifying patterns, comparing product attributes, and structuring evaluation data for our scoring framework.
- Consistency and standards — AI helps ensure that our content follows our style guide, evaluation framework, and formatting standards across a growing content library.
- Fact-checking support — AI tools help surface discrepancies, flag outdated specifications, and cross-reference claims against source materials during our editorial review process.
Human Editorial Authority
AI is a tool in our editorial process — not a replacement for editorial judgment, expertise, or subject-matter knowledge.
- Every article is produced by a named writer or editor who is responsible for its accuracy, completeness, and responsible framing.
- Facts are verified by our editorial team against source materials, product labels, and reputable health authorities.
- Health claims are checked with particular care — AI tools may overstate or misinterpret health information. Our editors ensure that content is accurate, evidence-aware, appropriately cautious, and never presented as medical advice.
- Sensitive health content receives medical review — Content we deem appropriate is reviewed by a qualified medical expert in the relevant field before publication, in addition to our standard editorial review. See our Medical Expert Review section above for details.
- Editorial voice and judgment are maintained by our team — Our editors bring care and rigor to every piece we publish, especially given the sensitivity of health topics.
Our Commitment
We are committed to the responsible use of AI in publishing. We use AI to produce better content more efficiently — not to cut corners on accuracy or quality. If AI tools improve to the point where they can produce more accurate, more useful content, we will adopt those improvements. If they introduce errors or biases, we will correct them.
Our obligation is to our readers, not to any particular technology.
Corrections and Updates
Accuracy is a core commitment. When we get something wrong, we fix it.
Corrections Policy
- Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are identified. If a correction is material (e.g., an incorrect ingredient, dosage, safety note, or misleading recommendation), we note the correction within the article.
- Minor errors (e.g., typographical errors, formatting issues, broken links) are corrected without notation.
- Reader-reported errors are investigated and, if confirmed, corrected promptly. We welcome and encourage reader feedback as an essential part of maintaining accuracy.
Content Updates
Our content is not static. We update published articles for a range of reasons:
- Product changes — When a product is discontinued, reformulated, or replaced by a newer version, we update our reviews and recommendations accordingly.
- Pricing and availability changes — When U.S. pricing or availability changes significantly, we update our content to reflect current market conditions.
- New research — When new studies, testing data, or scientific developments become available that affect our assessments, we incorporate that information.
- Regulatory or guidance changes — When relevant FDA or FTC guidance, safety information, or recognized recommendations change, we update affected content.
- Reader feedback — When readers identify gaps, inaccuracies, or areas for improvement, we evaluate and address their feedback.
We aim to keep our content current and accurate as an ongoing commitment, not a one-time effort.
Affiliate Disclosure
Daily Vitality participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means that some links to products and retailers on our site are affiliate links. When you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Key Principles
- Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial assessments. A product's affiliate commission rate has no bearing on whether it is recommended, how it is ranked, or how it is reviewed.
- We disclose affiliate relationships transparently. We comply with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and provide clear and conspicuous disclosures.
- Not all products have affiliate links. Some products we recommend may not be available through affiliate programs. We recommend them anyway if they meet our evaluation criteria. The absence of an affiliate link does not affect a product's inclusion or ranking.
- Your purchase price is not affected. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer or affiliate network, not by you. You pay the same price whether or not you click through an affiliate link.
For more detail on how our affiliate links work, see our How Daily Vitality Works page.
Content We Do Not Publish
To be clear about our editorial boundaries:
- We do not publish sponsored content. All articles, reviews, and guides on Daily Vitality are produced by our editorial team according to our editorial standards. We do not publish articles written by or on behalf of manufacturers, retailers, or advertisers.
- We do not publish paid reviews. We do not accept payment or free products in exchange for reviews. If we evaluate a product, the evaluation follows our standard process and criteria regardless of how the product was obtained.
- We do not provide medical or professional advice. Our content is for general informational and educational purposes. It does not constitute medical, nutritional, fitness, or mental health advice. Readers should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant decisions about their health.
- We do not make unsupported health claims. We do not publish content claiming that any product can diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and we avoid sensational or exaggerated health claims.
